Prepare a Box installation
Prepare the installation with the site owner. Use the electrical and environmental limits for the exact Box model supplied.
Check the installed release and the agreed project scope before using a feature.
Before power-on
- Record the Box model and serial number. Obtain its approved hardware specification.
- Check the power supply, mounting, ventilation and permitted temperature range against that specification.
- Agree the Internet uplink and machine network with the site network owner.
- Record the PLC model, firmware, protocol, IP address and required data points.
- Name the local administrator and the person who will accept the installation.
Set up and verify
- Connect the approved power and network connections. Keep the machine network separate from the uplink where the design requires it.
- Use the commissioning access supplied with the Box. Complete Edge Console onboarding and protect the local administrator credentials.
- Check service health and the installed versions in Edge Console.
- Configure the approved data source. Compare selected values with the machine display.
- Open the required application through Edge Console or Connect. Test the intended user permissions.
Complete the handover
Record the network plan, installed versions, data mapping and acceptance results. Store recovery material in the agreed secure location.
The PLC and engineered safety system remain responsible for machine control. A process-changing command needs a separate design, authorization and test.
