Understand data use in AI analysis
Original machine records and documents stay on the Box. Hosted analysis uses selected measurements and document excerpts.
Check the installed release and the agreed project scope before using a feature.
Follow the data
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Collection and storage | Configured machine values and original documents are stored locally. |
| Document indexing | Documents are indexed locally without model inference. |
| Analysis request | The authorized task selects records and excerpts for the configured inference service. |
| Result | The workspace returns findings with source context. The user reviews the evidence and next action. |
Prepare a useful investigation
- Choose the machine, time range and a clear question.
- Check that the required measurements, units and documents are available.
- Confirm the user can access the selected machine and sources.
- Run the analysis. Open the cited records or document passages.
- Record the finding and the next maintenance check. Compare the result after that check.
Agree the installation policy
Confirm the hosted inference service, permitted data, retention terms and usage limits in the project scope. Do not describe hosted analysis as fully offline.
Missing data and failed requests must remain visible. AI findings do not change PLC control authority or bypass existing alarms and approvals.
