Install and open Box applications

App publication and local permission approval are separate steps. The Box administrator approves the access an app receives.

Check the installed release and the agreed project scope before using a feature.

Install an approved release

  1. Open application management in Edge Console.
  2. Select the reviewed app and the required version from the available catalog.
  3. Read the requested permissions. Approve only the services, network targets and devices needed for the task.
  4. Install the release and check its status.
  5. Open the app through Edge Console. Assign organization users or groups through the organization access settings.

Check updates and devices

Review permission changes before an app update. Catalog approval does not grant local hardware, network or data access.

Select the specific USB device where required. An attached device may already belong to another app or gateway session. Resolve that use before assigning it.

Use the existing sign-in

Box apps use Edge Console authentication. Open them from the app launcher. Users must not need a separate password database for each app.

If an app is missing, check installation status and the user grant separately. A local Box administrator role does not automatically grant access to every organization resource.
